Friday the 20th of September was the start of a gruelling 3 day 980 mile round trip.

Starting in Liverpool at 10am we picked up our walkers and headed of to Ben Nevis We arrived around 8pm after seeing some of the best scenery in he UK especially around Loch Lomond. Up at first light on Saturday and a short trip to the base of Ben Nevis, we begun our 24 hours.

After around 6 hours the team arrived back to the Minibus and we set off to Scafell Pike. After a long drive we finally felt like were not far off. Then I looked at the sat nav, 1 hour to do 12 miles!! That last hour drive was very difficult but the views were absolutely amazing, the scenery around Wasdale Lake is some of the best in the UK, its so remote but spectacular. The team set off up the mountain around 17:30 , I waited in the van and tried to get some sleep. Night fall soon came which meant the team were coming down the mountain in pitch black. Around 21:30 the team were down and back in the Bus and we set off to Snowdon.

The drive from Scafell to Snowdon was hard, very hard, the roads from Scafell to Kendal cannot be put into words, steep hills and descents with bends and sheep for 2 hours in the pitch black tests both van and driver to the limits. We arrived at Snowdon at around 1:30am in the dark and the team set off up the mountain. The weather conditions had took a turn, light rain and wind in the dark made for a hard climb. The team all managed to reach the peak and complete the challenge with literally minutes to spare. The climb down was hard and a few of the team ended up split up coming down different routes.

Around 6:30am we were all back at the bus celebrating one hell of a weekend, a few beers were opened and blistered feet attended to. All in all a great weekend meeting some great people and seeing some of the best scenery. Would we all do it again, maybe next year!
